This position reports to the Sr. Director of Operations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This position will support Atlanta Music Project programming and operations through positive team practices. The AMP Van Driver will be responsible primarily for the transportation of youth and will also ensure that the highest possible safety standards are followed in the operation and maintenance of AMP vehicles. The AMP Van Driver will follow all state, local and organizational requirements relating to the position. The winning candidate will need to be detail oriented, a strong multitasker and able to receive feedback in a direct and positive way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Key Duties<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Safely transport students on the AMP Van from school to AMP sites, to and from concerts, field trips<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and special events<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> At all times ensure and monitor the safety and comfort of all AMP Van passengers<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u25cf Perform thorough pre\/post trip vehicle inspections and reporting equipment concerns and<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">maintenance problems<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Assist students in the loading and unloading process<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Maintaining the strict requirement of the vehicle capacity<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Coordinate and communicate with AMP Staff<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Understand and represent the AMP philosophies for uplifting youths, families and communities<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">through the pursuit of musical excellence<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Be a positive representative of the Atlanta Music Project in the community<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Minimum Requirements<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2 years bus driving experience<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Valid CDL Class B with passenger endorsement<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Good driving record and valid auto insurance (<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Must not have had their drivers license suspended<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for traffic accidents\/violations within the past 3 years; Must not have any at fault accidents in the past<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 years)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Successful candidate is required to pass criminal background check, drug test and safe<\/b> <b>driving course<\/b><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> High School diploma or GED<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Must possess reliable personal transportation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>In addition, the ideal candidate will possess:<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Experience driving children on buses, preferably school buses or charter buses<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excellent communication skills, both written and oral<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Exemplary dependability and punctuality<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Cheerful personality and comfortable working around children<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Thorough knowledge of City of Atlanta streets and neighborhoods<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Notes: <\/b><b>The AMP Van Driver is an hourly, contracted position which is available for an immediate start. Hourly rate is $22.00\/hour. AMP\u2019s mission is to empower underserved youth to realize their<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">possibilities through music. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to four after-school learning sites providing band, orchestra and choir instruction, AMP&#8217;s programs include: the AMP Academy, providing advanced musical training to AMP\u2019s most talented and dedicated students; the AMP Summer Series, a music festival and school; and the AMP Youth Orchestras and Choirs. AMP also recently launched a college scholarship program supporting AMP alumni pursuing four-year college degrees. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a 2020-2021 annual operating budget of $1.9MM, AMP will<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">serve 350 young musicians.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AMP music ensembles perform more than 50 concerts annually, performing in venues all across Atlanta, from community centers to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. AMP music ensembles have performed alongside international stars such as the Harlem Quartet, electric violinist Lindsey Stirling, pianist Terrence Wilson, soprano Alison Buchanan, rapper Lecrae, R&amp;B singer Monica, and the Imani Winds. AMP musicians can be seen performing with rapper T.I. on NPR&#8217;s Tiny Desk concert series. AMP&#8217;s young musicians have successfully auditioned for Georgia All-State ensembles, the Atlanta Opera, and have concertized as far away as Los Angeles, Aspen, Mexico City and Scotland. AMP is a 2019 winner of ArtsATL\u2019s Luminary Award for Arts Education and a 2018 winner of Emory University\u2019s Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award. In 2016 and 2017, the White House named AMP one of the top 50 youth arts programs in the nation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AMP\u2019s existence is a direct result of the 2009 TED Prize, which was awarded to Dr. Jose Antonio Abreu,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">founder of Venezuela\u2019s El Sistema.
