These positions report to the relevant Program Manager or Associate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Site Assistant position is ideal for recent college graduates who studied music, as well as current music majors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>About the Atlanta Music Project<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Founded in 2010, the Atlanta Music Project provides world-class music training supporting youth growth and development. Operating in under-resourced communities, AMP\u2019s mission is to empower youth to realize their possibilities through music.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to after-school learning sites providing band, orchestra and choir instruction, AMP&#8217;s programs include: the AMP Academy, providing advanced musical training to AMP\u2019s most talented and dedicated students; the AMP Preparatory School for elementary school-aged musicians; the AMP Summer Series, a music festival and school; and the AMP Youth Orchestras and Choirs. AMP also has a college and career program supporting AMP alumni. With a projected 2023-20224 annual operating budget of $2.9MM, AMP will serve over 500 young musicians.<\/p>\n<p>AMP music ensembles perform more than 50 concerts annually, performing in venues all across Atlanta, from community centers to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. AMP music ensembles have performed alongside international stars such as the Harlem Quartet, electric violinist Lindsey Stirling, cellist Sterling Elliott, operatic baritone Ed Parks, rapper Lecrae, R&amp;B singer Monica, and The Imani Winds. AMP musicians can be seen performing with rapper T.I. on NPR&#8217;s Tiny Desk concert series.<\/p>\n<p>AMP&#8217;s young musicians have successfully auditioned for Georgia All-State ensembles, the Atlanta Opera, and have concertized as far away as Los Angeles, Aspen, Mexico City and Scotland. AMP is a 2019 winner of ArtsATL\u2019s Luminary Award for Arts Education and a 2018 winner of Emory University\u2019s Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award. In 2016 and 2017, the White House named AMP one of the top 50 youth arts programs in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>AMP\u2019s existence is a direct result of the 2009 TED Prize, which was awarded to Dr. Jose Antonio Abreu, founder of Venezuela\u2019s El Sistema. AMP\u2019s co-founders were members of the Sistema Fellows Program at the New England Conservatory in Boston.<\/p>\n<p>AMP\u2019s current and past funders include Carnegie Hall, PwC, Bank of America, the Chick-fil-A Foundation, the Coca-Cola Foundation, Mailchimp, The Zeist Foundation, the Abraham J. &amp; Phyllis Katz Foundation, the Harland Charitable Foundation, the Arthur M. Blank Foundation, Mayor\u2019s Office of Cultural Affairs, Fulton County Arts Council, Georgia Council for the Arts, Georgia Music Foundation and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>AMP\u2019s partners and collaborators include the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation, Atlanta Public Schools, Clayton State University, and the Chestnut Family Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>AMP is a member of \u201cEl Sistema USA,\u201d the National Alliance of El Sistema Inspired Programs.<\/p>\n<p>For more information visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atlantamusicproject.org\">http:\/\/www.atlantamusicproject.org<\/a><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><b>Responsibilities\/Opportunities:<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn, understand and represent the AMP philosophies for uplifting youths, families and communities through the pursuit of musical excellence<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Complete administrative tasks such as attendance, photocopies, class\/rehearsal set up and take down, social media, preparing flyers\/announcements, communication with parents\/guardians<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perform stagehand duties at selected AMP concerts<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other administrative tasks as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist program leaders and faculty as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Occasionally teach and\/or mentor AMP students<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Form effective work relationship with other AMP Site Assistants<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attend peer exchange\/training workshops throughout the year<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Ideal candidate will:<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hold a bachelor\u2019s degree in music education, music performance, education, social work or related field; OR be a current undergraduate or graduate student\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possess some proficiency on one of the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion, voice<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be extremely reliable<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be always punctual\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possess a passion for music as a tool for positive social change<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possess the ability to inspire, work with, and mentor youths ages 6 and up<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possess excellent proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint,<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possess excellent inter-personal skills and be comfortable working in a team<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possess ability to adapt, be flexible and have a sense of humor<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Notes:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Site Assistant is a part-time, hourly ($16.22\/hour) position starting immediately. This position requires a car. Background check required. AMP program sites are located throughout the 30310, and south of Interstate 20 generally. Rehearsals take place weekday afternoons\/evenings, and Saturdays.
