Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Bookkeeper will utilize and optimize the existing financial systems and processes to keep up with AMP\u2019s growth, budgetary goals, and fiscal reporting.<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe Bookkeeper will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and other staff members to comprehensively manage the financial administration of the organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate impeccable integrity, have 3+ years of professional experience in accounting and bookkeeping of a $1MM+ business or organization, and recognize the value of Atlanta Music Project\u2019s mission.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAbout the Atlanta Music Project<\/b>\r\n\r\nFounded in 2010, the Atlanta Music Project (AMP) provides world-class music training and performance opportunities supporting youth growth and development. Operating in under-resourced communities, AMP\u2019s mission is to empower youth to realize their possibilities through music.<\/span>\r\n\r\nAMP serves over 1,000 young musicians annually through band, orchestra, and choir programs, private lessons, and the annual month-long AMP Summer Series. The AMP Senior Youth Orchestras and Choirs perform and compete both nationally and internationally. Additionally, AMP houses a college and career program, supporting AMP high school students and alumni. Since 2021, AMP has awarded <\/span>$545,000<\/span> in college scholarships to its alumni.<\/span>\r\n\r\nAMP music ensembles perform more than 60 concerts annually, performing in venues all across Atlanta, from community centers to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. AMP music ensembles have performed alongside international stars such as cellist Sterling Elliott, rapper Lecrae, operatic baritone Edward Parks, R&B singer Monica, The Piano Guys, the Harlem Quartet, electric violinist Lindsey Stirling, pianist Terrence Wilson, and the Imani Winds. AMP musicians can be seen performing with rapper T.I. on NPR\u2019s Tiny Desk concert series.\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nAMP\u2019s young musicians have successfully auditioned for Georgia All-State ensembles, and performed with the Atlanta Opera, the Atlanta Ballet, and the Fox Theatre. AMP ensembles have concertized as far away as Los Angeles, Aspen, Mexico, Canada, and New Zealand. \r\n \t- Learn, understand, and stay current on the structure and details of all AMP programs\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Serve as the staff person overseeing and managing the administration of AMP\u2019s budgets, expenses, and revenue<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Maintain and improve upon standard operating procedures related to the organization\u2019s financial management<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Collaborate regularly with the Chief Executive Officer, other staff members, and outside contractors\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Serve as the staff liaison to the AMP Board Finance Committee<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n \r\n\r\nFinancial Management (90%)<\/b><\/b>\r\n
\r\n \t- Manage the annual budgeting and planning process in coordination with Chief Executive Officer<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Ensure all financial transactions for the organization are recorded timely and accurately, including the performance of data entry and reconciliation activities to the organization\u2019s accounting system<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

\r\n \t- Prepare monthly financial statements for use by senior management and Board of Directors in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- Participate in meetings of the Board of Directors as requested<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Continuously monitor bank balance and transaction integrity<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Produce cash flow projections and monitor cash flow<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Produce bi-weekly payroll summary in collaboration with program staff and Chief Executive Officer<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Manage and complete all financial components of grant applications & ongoing reporting, in collaboration with the development and program staff\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Serve as AMP\u2019s point of contact and manager for annual external audit process<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Coordinate and implement external audit recommendations<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Collaborate with the Development Team on donation and check deposit processes<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Manage Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable including bills, utilities, invoices, earned income, program registration fees, donations, grant awards, expenses, purchases, leases, rentals, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Manage and optimize procedures related to expense reporting\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
\r\n \t- Prepare tax documents including annual 990 form<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n \r\n\r\nAdministrative Responsibilities (10%)<\/b><\/b>\r\n
\r\n \t- As needed, provide general administrative support related to AMP\u2019s day-to-day activities<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n \r\n\r\nEducation & Experience:<\/b>\r\n
\r\n \t- Bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting or equivalent certification\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks & Excel <\/span>required<\/i><\/b><\/li>\r\n \t
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in corporate or non-profit accounting\/finance<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis and reporting<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- Strong proficiency in Google Docs & Microsoft Suite\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t

Hybrid schedule. Compensation is commensurate with experience and may range from $70,000 - $90,000.
