Over one hundred organizations applied for the grant and 75 organizations were moved on to a final round for consideration.<\/p>\n<p>An initiative of\u00a0Carnegie Hall&#8217;s Weill Music Institute, PlayUSA is &#8220;a program that supports a wide range of instrumental music education projects across the United States, all specifically designed to reach low-income and underserved students on a local level.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to grant money for specific education and program initiatives for the 2016-2017 school year, partner organizations receive consultation with\u00a0Carnegie Hall staff to address industry-specific challenges and encourage best practices, and\u00a0training and professional development for teaching artists.
